Uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) for your industrial PC systems

The uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) of the C-TEC model series work with ultracapacitors (double-layer capacitors) as energy storage. Depending on the model, the UPSs are charged via the 230V AC power grid or via power supplies with 12V/24V DC voltage.

If there is a power failure, your industrial PC will continue to be supplied with power. The duration of the continued supply depends on which UPS you are using and how much energy your industrial PC needs to operate. The buffer time can be easily calculated using the formula “energy / watt = buffer time”. Here is an example with the UPS C-TEC 2410, DC-DC, 2kJ. This UPS has an integrated 2kJ (2000J) energy storage unit. In this example, the PC has a power consumption of 50 watts. 2000J / 50W = 40sec. In this example, the industrial PC is buffered for 40 seconds when the UPS is at maximum charge.

You can use the TECcontrol software to configure how the PC and UPS behave in the event of a power failure.
